Berlin: District fights with snowballs

Berlin is the capital of pacifists. Nowhere else so many people go on the street to show their opinion. But what is this here??? It is known that once per year Kreuzbergers and Friedrichhainers (actually one district, formerly east and west) meet on the Oberbaum bridge to through tomatos at each other. No wonder that they got new ideas during this long winter with massive snow.

The new sport is district snowball fighting. This time another district: Kreuzberg vs. Neukölln. Old Western enemies among themselves. This is political consciousness with a touch of bohème against blue collar. The whole "event" was organized through Facebook and others Internet services.

Kreuzbergers came well prepared to the Görlitzer Park with a self-made snowball-gun. At 2pm last Sunday a fanfare horn opened the battle. After 2 hours the battle was over because of a shortage of "munition". Nobody knows who the winner is.

Also Mitte and Prenzlauer Berg have had the first battle. There has been no sun for the last 18 days and more snow is to come on the weekend ...
